Determine your head circumference

Measure your head circumference using a measuring tape or a piece of string.

Further information

Place the measuring tape horizontally around your head at forehead level. Alternatively, use a piece of string and measure it afterwards with a ruler. If you already know your final sizing ring measurement, you can skip this step.

Choose your Hat-Line model

Select your preferred Western-style riding model in our online shop.

Further information

Choose the desired model and enter your head circumference during the order process. If your final sizing ring measurement is already known, enter the full size including the letter, for example 54V or 57N.

Fine adjustment with sizing rings

The sizing rings determine the exact size and head shape.

Further information

We send you suitable sizing rings. Please test the rings according to the enclosed instructions and send us the exact size including the letter. Production cannot begin without a clear final size.

Handmade production and shipping

Your riding model is produced after we receive your final size.

Further information

The hat is handmade by our hat maker. We then install the internal construction and complete the riding model. Production takes approximately 40 working days. You will automatically receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking link.

Size and head shape

The complete size always consists of a number and a letter

The number indicates the size. The letter describes the head shape. Both details are required for production.

Available sizes: 52 to 63

Examples: 56N, 58K or 60V

Intermediate sizes such as 52.5N or 57.5V are also possible.

Production cannot begin without a clear size including the letter.

N – Neutral

For a balanced head shape without a pronounced round or oval tendency.

K – Broad and round

For heads that are slightly broader and rounder.

V – Oval and long

For heads with a more oval and elongated shape.

Internal construction

A multi-layered construction beneath the classic hat design

The individual components are assembled to suit the respective riding model.

Integrated inner shell

The inner shell helps maintain the shape and forms part of the multi-layered construction.

Additional cushioning layer

An additional cushioning layer is positioned between the shell and the interior padding.

Comfortable interior padding

The interior padding rests directly against the head and provides a comfortable fit.

The hat is handmade

The selected hat model is made by our hat maker. As a handmade product, each model may show minor individual characteristics.

The internal construction is installed

Once the hat arrives at our workshop, we install the shell and complete the internal construction.

Final inspection and shipping

After completion, the riding model is checked, packed and shipped. The tracking link is sent automatically.

Fit after delivery

One adjustment is included

If the riding model does not fit correctly after delivery, one adjustment is included. The riding model must be returned together with the completed return and adjustment form. We do not recommend additional inserts when the fit is too loose. The riding model should be adjusted correctly instead.

When does production begin?

Production begins once we have received a clear final sizing ring measurement including the letter.

What do N, K and V mean?

N stands for a neutral head shape, K for a broader and rounder shape and V for an oval and longer head shape.

What happens if I am between two sizes?

Intermediate sizes such as 52.5N or 57.5V can often be produced. Please send us the results of the sizing ring test.

How long does production take?

The standard production time is approximately 40 working days from receipt of the final sizing ring measurement. It may be faster if a suitable hat is already in stock.

What happens if the riding model does not fit correctly?

One adjustment is included. The riding model must be returned together with the completed adjustment form.

Are the riding models certified?

No. Hat-Line riding models are not certified and have no TÜV approval or official certification. They were developed with consideration of EN 1384:2017.

Can I order without sizing rings?

Yes, if you already know your exact final size including the letter. UNI or express solutions may also be possible in individual cases.
